A 2-line Metro system called the Metropolitana operates with 50 stations in the city, with A (Orange) and B (Blue) lines intersecting at Roma Termini Station. Trains run approx. every 7-10 minutes, from 5:30am until 11:30pm every day except on Saturdays until 0:30am.
An individual ticket for bus, metro, tram and trains inside the municipality of Rome is 1.50 € (US$ 1.75) and is valid for 100 minutes. If you will be in Rome for an extended period of time, one can buy a seven day Metro and bus pass (called CIS) for 24 €. (US$26.00) For shorter stays, one can get a 24 hours pass for 7 €, (US$7.75) a 48 hours pass for 12.50 €, (US$13.50) or a 72 hours pass for 18 € (US$20.00).
